City of Raleigh Leaf Collection ๐Ÿ‚

Posted on November 1, 2022November 3, 2022 by admin

With the leaves falling, you may be wondering what to do with all of them. There are a few options, including the City of Raleigh seasonal leaf collection which starts every year in November.

*SPECIAL ALERT*
The HOA has worked with the city to get Leaf Collection the week of December 19th – just in time for luminaries!

Please follow city guidelines to wait for the appropriate week and do not pile leaves in the street!
Leaf piles on the pavement are a hazard for pedestrians and vehicles by partially blocking the roadway.

The City of Raleigh offers several disposal options to its residents, and would like to make people aware there are also some environmentally friendly alternatives: Optional Methods for Leaf Disposal

One of the optional methods for leaf disposal is Curbside Yard Waste Service: This service is provided by the Solid Waste Services Department and occurs on the same day your recycling is collected, but alternate weeks. Solid Waste Services will only collect containerized yard waste in your City-issued bright green cart. At this time, the City offers one 95-gallon yard waste cart per service address. In addition, residents may place 15 biodegradable paper bags and five stick bundles at the curb for collection. Additional bags may be collected through a scheduled Special Load Collection (fee may apply). Visit Solid Waste Services for more information.

Please remember in the City of Raleigh, yard waste may not be burned.

Due to COVID-19 protocols and staffing restrictions, it is anticipated that the time it takes to collect leaves will be longer than normal. Residents are encouraged to use other available options for leaf disposal.
